The Ondo State Agricultural Empowerment Coalition (OSAEC) has commended the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa on Agriculture and Agribusiness, Hon. Rotimi Wemimo Akinsola, for initiatives aimed at transforming the agricultural sector in the state.
The coalition also expressed appreciation to the Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for what it described as a sustained commitment to policies that promote agricultural development, food security, and investment in the sector.
In a statement issued in Akure, the group described Akinsola as a reform-oriented administrator whose programmes are positioning the state as a key player in Nigeria’s agricultural value chain.
OSAEC highlighted the grading of farm settlement roads across several rural communities as one of the notable interventions under Akinsola’s coordination.
According to the coalition, the improved road network has eased the movement of farm produce from rural areas to urban markets, reduced post-harvest losses, and lowered transportation costs for farmers.
The group noted that the development has also improved market access and profitability for farmers who previously struggled with poor road infrastructure, particularly during the rainy season.

It further commended the state government’s partnership with the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), describing it as a strategic collaboration that strengthens farmers’ capacity through training in modern farming techniques, crop management, and agribusiness development.
According to OSAEC, beneficiaries of the programme also receive improved seedlings and financial support to expand their farming operations, helping to build a new generation of agripreneurs and enhance sustainable food production.
The coalition also cited the “Adiye Irorun” initiative as a major intervention in the poultry sector. It said the programme provides farmers with training, mentorship, and material support to establish viable poultry enterprises capable of generating income and employment.
OSAEC said the initiative is already contributing to improved protein availability, increased household income, and economic activity in rural communities.
The group added that the combination of improved infrastructure, skills development, and supportive government policies is gradually positioning Ondo as an attractive destination for agricultural investment and agro-processing.
OSAEC therefore commended Akinsola for his commitment to agricultural transformation and praised Governor Aiyedatiwa for providing the leadership and policy direction driving the reforms.
“With visionary leadership, strategic partnerships and community-focused empowerment initiatives, farmers in the state are experiencing renewed opportunities for growth and productivity,” the coalition said.
