The volume, averaging more than two events weekly, reflects rising demand for structured, high-quality event hosting services in Africa’s most populous country, where weddings, corporate functions and political gatherings continue to scale in size and spending.

Industry data indicates that top MCs typically handle between 50 and 120 events annually, making Sceed Barms’ 111 bookings a clear indicator of both strong client retention and sustained referrals within the country’s competitive event services space.

“Consistency at that volume suggests strong repeat business and referrals,” a Lagos-based event coordinator, Michael Akomolafe, said, pointing to reliability and adaptability as critical metrics for clients managing high-budget events.

Sceed Barms, who entered the industry about four years ago, has built his market position through high-energy performances and audience engagement techniques, helping him stand out in a fragmented but rapidly professionalising sector.

His client base reflects the premium segment of the market, including members of the Adeleke family, industrialist Razaq Okoya, and current and former senior government officials across southwest Nigeria—groups where reputation and word-of-mouth referrals remain key drivers of patronage.
