Popular visual artist, Deborah Abosede Ibeme, has mentored over fifty emerging photgraphers during her recently concluded workshop.

Ibeme who is passionate about training the next generation of fine art photographers is extending her influence beyond studio practice through mentorship and training initiatives aimed at nurturing the next generation.

Ibeme has worked closely with emerging creatives, providing guidance through workshops, small group sessions and one-on-one engagements designed to build both technical skills and artistic direction. Her mentorship efforts have so far reached over 50 young photographers, many of whom are at the early stages of their careers.

This initiative, according to Ibeme focuses on improving access to fine art photography education, particularly for young people who may not have formal training opportunities.

“These sessions typically cover areas such as lighting, composition, conceptual development and the fundamentals of visual storytelling,” Ibeme disclosed.

“Participants are also introduced to the broader realities of the creative industry, including how to develop a personal style, approach long-term projects and position their work within both local and international contexts.”

In addition to structured workshops, Ibeme has created informal learning platforms that allow for continuous engagement among participants, fostering a sense of community and collaboration within the creative space.
