The Ikeja Local Government has distributed free JAMB forms to 500 students in the council.
Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Akeem Dauda, represented by the Vice Chairman, Abisola Omisore, anchored the distribution at the Ikeja Local Government Marriage Registry Hall.
Akeem said the initiative was a milestone in his administration’s commitment to education and also served as an unprecedented empowerment to remove barriers and create opportunities for youth.

“Education is central to the Ikeja Agenda, emphasising the future of Ikeja depends on its children’s strength and capacity,” he said.
He urged beneficiaries to “study diligently, remain focused, and make Ikeja proud”.
“Let this support serve as a stepping stone to excellence and greater accomplishments, your success will justify and sustain this initiative for other generations to come,” he said.

Council Manager, Odubeko Taiwo, represented by Human Resources Officer Jubril Olusegun, said the initiative was to assist the indigent students of Ikeja Local Government towards the forth coming jamb examination.

He admonished the students to work very hard, adding that the chairman had promised the best student who performed excellently among them would be awarded and given a scholarship throughout their university education.
“It’s my prayer that the students should wake up from their slumber and the chairman was always making the promise that whoever that perform excellently well among them will be giving an award and sponsored by the local government throughout their university education,” he said.
Head of Department of Education and Library Services, Ogundele Babatunde, who lauded the initiative said it showed the Council’s boss’ strong belief in education and youth development.
Babatunde encouraged beneficiaries to study hard and remain focused, assuring them that dedication and effort will lead to better opportunities.
A beneficiary, Iretomiwa Shoremi, who appreciated the council boss, promised to excel with flying colours and make him and her parents proud. “it’s not easy to receive this type of opportunity to fulfil my dream I will make sure to pass this upcoming exam,” she said.
She urged the students to study hard and make their parents proud.
Another beneficiary, Daniel Owuyemi, appreciated the chairman for his strides in the educational sector.
