It was an atmosphere of celebration, unity, and generosity on Easter Saturday, April 4 as renowned entrepreneur and Chief Executive Officer of All Seasons Hotel Owerri, Evangelist Mike Obinna Chieze Ikemsinachi Ikoku, hosted a mega Easter gathering in his country home of Obinocha village, Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State.

The event, initially planned as a modest community outing for Obinocha indigenes, transformed into a large-scale carnival that attracted a massive crowd, including children, youths, women, men, and visitors from neighboring communities such as Ishe-Owerri, Owerri Nkwoji, Umudi-Umuwala, Amaegbu, and surrounding areas.

Eyewitness accounts described the turnout as unprecedented in the history of the community, with a diverse mix of attendees from Obinocha, Amuamu Obinocha, and a sizeable entourage from All Seasons Hotel, alongside numerous uninvited guests who joined the celebration.

Addressing attendees, Evangelist Ikoku expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to witness another Easter celebration, commemorating the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

He used the occasion to appreciate and offer prayers for Imo Governor Hope Uzodinma, commending his administration’s efforts in economic growth, increased internally generated revenue, infrastructural development, job creation, and the promotion of peace in the state.

He specifically highlighted ongoing road projects linking major parts of the state, as well as the construction of a modern flyover in Owerri, noting that such developments have placed Imo State on a stronger national footing.

Ikoku emphasized the importance of returning home to celebrate with his people, fostering unity among kinsmen, women, youths, and children. Lastly, he clarified that he has no political ambition for the 2027 general elections, stating instead his commitment to supporting the governor in achieving even greater milestones.

The highlight of the event was the extensive empowerment initiative.

All attendees were treated to a lavish meal featuring rice, meat, assorted drinks, and premium wines.

Beyond the feast, every participant received a bag of rice and an envelope containing cash, regardless of whether they were invited or not.

Community members expressed amazement at the scale of generosity, noting that such an event had never been witnessed in Obinocha village.

Prayers were offered for Governor Uzodinma, members of his administration, the Imo State House of Assembly, and traditional rulers across the state. Special prayers and commendations were also directed at Evangelist Ikoku, his family, and his business ventures for his philanthropic gesture.

Observers noted that despite not holding any political office, Ikoku demonstrated a remarkable level of generosity and community commitment, leaving a lasting impression on attendees and setting a new standard for private philanthropy in the region.
