Officials of Ikoyi Club 1938 are putting the finishing touches to the annual inter-school swimming competition, billed to take place across two legs in Lagos.
The third edition of the initiative, sponsored by Quomodo, is open to primary and secondary school swimmers. The first leg is scheduled for 9 May at the Ikoyi Club swimming pool, with the second leg following on 6 June at the same venue.
The secondary school category is divided into junior secondary school (JSS), for swimmers aged 10–14, and senior secondary school, for those aged 14–17.

Competitors will contest across the major strokes — freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly and individual medley — with distances varying by age group.
Akinbulejo Onabolu, Chairman of the Ikoyi Club Swimming Section, said the competition was designed to promote participation, teamwork and competitive excellence among young swimmers.
"The competition will be staged in a two-leg league format, creating sustained engagement for schools, athletes, spectators and sponsors," Onabolu said.
Points accumulated across events will count towards team standings, culminating in the recognition of overall champions and outstanding individual swimmers.
Onabolu added: "The championship aims to promote swimming development in schools, encourage teamwork and school pride, and provide a structured competitive pathway for young swimmers. With multiple medal opportunities and a well-balanced event structure, the competition offers an ideal platform for youth development and strong brand visibility for sponsors.
"We have been working hard alongside the sponsors to provide a good template for young swimmers to enjoy themselves in the competition."
Registration for the current edition closes on 30 April.
