Rangers coach Fidelis Ilechukwu admitted it was a difficult contest but praised his team’s response:
“It was a tough game… we knew mistakes could cost us and we were punished, but I’m happy we came back to score two goals and win.”
He also highlighted the impact of playing without fans and his team’s versatility:
“We missed our fans… the energy would have been different. Our defenders bailed us out and it’s a plus we can score from set-pieces, not just open play.”

Enyimba coach Emmanuel Deutsch has played down the People's Elephant 2-1 defeat to Rangers International FC.
Rangers International rallied from a goal down to defeat Enyimba 2-1 in a tense Oriental derby clash played at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.
Enyimba went ahead through Wonah Williams in the 49th minute, but Rangers responded with goals from Chidozie Iwundu in the (61st minute and Ifeanyi Onyebuchi seven minutes later.
“Losing such a derby away isn’t that bad. It wasn’t a bad game. We scored first, they equalised and got the winner. They needed the victory the way we needed it,” Deutsch said.
