...Renewed Hope, Vision agenda

Prince Kunle Musediq Adelakun, popularly known as Eruobodo and son of late Ibadan political strongman Busari Adelakun, has declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State under the platform of the All Progressives Congress.

Adelakun expressed confidence that he would secure the mandate of the people and be sworn in as governor on May 29, 2027.

Speaking in Ibadan while formally announcing his ambition, the Ibadan-born politician said his decision was driven by a people-focused agenda anchored on economic growth, social welfare and infrastructural development.

He described his aspiration as both timely and divinely inspired, noting that his candidacy represents a mission aimed at repositioning the state for inclusive development.

Adelakun further highlighted his “People-Oriented Development (POD)” framework as the blueprint for his administration if elected.

According to him, his priority areas would include education, healthcare, agriculture, security and economic expansion.

“Our goal is to ensure that every citizen has access to quality life and services that will enable them enjoy the full dividends of democracy."

The governorship hopeful pledged to empower youths, women, and small-scale entrepreneurs through skills development and financial support, while also promising to modernize agriculture by providing farmers with improved tools and access to funding.

On infrastructure, he vowed to construct new roads, rehabilitate existing ones, and improve rural connectivity to stimulate trade and economic activities across the state.

Eruobodo further promised transparency and accountability in governance, noting that his administration would leverage technology and innovation to improve service delivery and create employment opportunities.

He decried what he described as artificial poverty created by a few political opportunists, insisting that governance must prioritize the welfare of the people rather than personal enrichment.

“It is time to rescue our people from manipulation and restore dignity, integrity, and prosperity across all sectors."

He also proposed creation of a Ministry of Social Welfare and Humanitarian Services to cater to vulnerable populations, alongside plans to subsidize tertiary education up to 200 level and provide automatic employment opportunities for exceptional graduates.

Healthcare reforms featured prominently in his agenda, with a promise that emergency patients would not be denied treatment in any hospital, whether public or private.

He however acknowledged the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom he praised for driving national reforms and economic transformation.
