The General Manager of Barau FC, Dominic Iorfa, has led a delegation of football experts on an inspection tour of the Dambatta Stadium, a facility constructed by the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin.
The visiting experts drawn from the United Kingdom, Turkey and Egypt are in Nigeria to explore collaboration opportunities with Senator Jibrin aimed at upgrading the stadium to meet international standards.
Iorfa was joined on the inspection by Abubakar Abubakar Dan Fulani, Coordinator of the Nigerian U-20 Flying Eagles, Abdul Adamu, and Barau FC Secretary Abubakar Jibrin.
Prior to the inspection, the foreign delegation attended Barau FC’s match against El-Kanemi Warriors, underlining their interest in identifying and developing Nigerian talents for opportunities abroad.
The team also paid a courtesy visit to the club’s Grand Patron, Senator Barau Jibrin, where discussions included plans to formalize a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the parties to drive football development initiatives.
Although already functional, the Dambatta Stadium is still undergoing development and requires further upgrades to reach global standards. The ongoing collaboration with international experts is expected to accelerate its completion and enhance its status as the home ground of the Maliya Boys.
Senator Barau Jibrin’s broader commitment to sports infrastructure is evident in the construction of 13 stadiums across local government areas in Kano North, reinforcing his investment in grassroots and elite sports development.
