Celebrity dancer Kaffy Shafau has expressed her admiration for actress Funke Akindele and media personality Morayo Afolabi-Brown, describing them as "remarkable women" who have made significant impacts in their fields.

Shafau shared her thoughts after attending a conversation between the two women at the Wema Bank International Women's Day event.

Shafau praised Funke Akindele for her boldness and commitment to excellence, noting that she has helped reshape the landscape of African storytelling and cinema distribution.

“I had the pleasure of listening to two remarkable women in conversation; Funke Akindele @funkejenifaakindele and Morayo Brown @morayobrown, and it was such a powerful moment to witness.

"Funke is someone I hold with deep respect. Over the years, I have watched her continue to push boundaries in an industry that was once heavily male-dominated. Through her work, her boldness, and her unwavering commitment to her craft, she has helped reshape the landscape of African storytelling and cinema distribution. She has proven time and time again that excellence has no ceiling — breaking records, raising standards, and reminding the industry that authenticity and audacity can coexist", she wrote.

She also commended Morayo Brown for her strength and intelligence, saying that she has created space for meaningful conversations and perspectives that shape public discourse.

"Morayo Brown, on the other hand, has remained a strong and steady voice in media and journalism. She has held her ground with grace and intelligence, creating space for meaningful conversations and perspectives that continue to shape public discourse.

"Watching the fireside chat between these two women was inspiring, not just because of their achievements, but also because of the strength, resilience, and authenticity they both bring to their journeys", she wrote.

The dancer emphasised the importance of celebrating women like Funke and Morayo, not just for their achievements, but for the courage it takes to stay the course despite challenges. 

"Celebrating women like this is important not just for their accomplishments, but for the courage it takes to stay the course despite the storms that come with visibility and leadership. Giving these incredible women their flowers today",she added.
