The Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board (KADSUBEB) has provided tablets to 20 newly deployed teachers at the Universal Basic Education Board (UBEC) Model Smart School.
Speaking at the event in Kinkinau, Kaduna South Local Government Area, Executive Chairman of KADSUBEB, Mr Mubarak Mohammed, said the gesture reinforced the board’s commitment to advancing digital teaching and learning across the state.
Mohammed, who was represented by the Director of School Services, Malam Rabiu Idris, said the smart school initiative reflects the future of basic education in Kaduna state.
He said it aligns with the government’s vision to modernise education in line with global 21st century standards.
Supported by the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) and Kaduna State Government, Mohammed said the programme was designed to integrate Information and Communication Technology (ICT) into teaching and learning.
“This integration is focused on the basic education level, the tablets are intended to equip teachers with the necessary digital tools.
“The tools will help them deliver technology driven instruction in line with the smart school model, “he said.

He noted that the devices would enable access to digital learning materials and support monitoring of pupil progress.
He further stated that the devices would enhance the use of innovative teaching methods to improve learning outcomes.
The executive chairman therefore, urged the teachers to handle the devices responsibly, encouraging them to maximise the tablets for lesson planning.
He urged their use for classroom delivery and continuous professional development, emphasising the need for proper maintenance and accountability.
The beneficiary teachers, expressed gratitude to KADSUBEB and the state government for the initiative.
They pledged to use the devices effectively, promising to improve instructional delivery and boost pupil engagement.
