Fahad Dankabo, son of the late aviation pioneer and founder of Kabo Air, Ahmadu Dankabo, has declared his intention to contest the House of Representatives seat representing the Gwarzo/Kabo Federal Constituency in Kano State under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Dankabo said his decision to join the race is driven by a commitment to strengthen legislative representation and address pressing challenges facing his constituency.
Speaking to supporters, he described his ambition as a response to constituents' calls rather than a personal pursuit.
“For years, I have listened to the voices of our people calling on me to step forward. Today, I accept this responsibility with full commitment to serve, uplift and represent the true interests of Gwarzo and Kabo,” he said.
He called for unity across wards and communities, urging residents to align behind a shared vision for development while describing the APC as a viable platform for delivering results.
Dankabo, noted for his grassroots engagement, assured constituents of inclusive leadership and practical solutions to local challenges.
He outlined his priorities to include youth and women empowerment through skills acquisition and job creation, improved access to quality education, enhanced support for students, and stronger advocacy for infrastructure development, including roads and healthcare facilities.
He also pledged transparent and responsive leadership aimed at addressing the needs of the people.
“This is not just about winning an election. It is about building a future where every young person has hope, every woman has opportunity, and every community feels the impact of good representation,” he said.
Dankabo cautioned against political toxicity, emphasising respectful engagement.
“I will never support the politics of insults or division. Our strength lies in unity, respect, and constructive ideas.”
The Director-General of Media for the campaign, Aliyu Mai Wake Garo, said all necessary steps had been taken, including the purchase of nomination forms and holding strategic meetings with party leaders, who he said were optimistic about Dankabo’s chances.
“With growing excitement across the constituency, many believe Dankabo represents a fresh, people-driven movement, one that speaks directly to the aspirations of the youth and the underserved,” Garo said.
