The Grassroots Sports Federation (GRASOF) has announced a partnership with Kanu Nwankwo Football Academy (KIFA) for the Pastor Umo Eno Easter Unity Cup.

The collaboration, backed by Governor Pastor Umo Eno PhD, is aimed at providing opportunities for young talents to develop through football.

"We are grateful to Pastor Umo Eno for trusting us with the organisation of this tournament, which has become a breeding ground for football stars," said John Ekpenyong, Tournament Coordinator at GRASOF. "Many of our past participants are now making waves in top leagues abroad, and we are confident this edition will produce more."

The state GRASOF chairman, Comrade Ita Peters, echoed the tournament coordinator, emphasising the importance of the competition for youth development in the state.

The tournament, scheduled to hold across the three senatorial districts at designated centres in Akwa Ibom State, will see KIFA establishing a football academy in the state, offering successful players a chance to join a club in Portugal.

"This partnership aligns with our goal of discovering and nurturing young talent," Comrade Ita added.

A delegation from KIFA, led by Prince Dapo Ajibade (Director-General), Alhaji Ahmed Abdullah (Secretary), and Mallam Babangida Sarki (National Coordinator), will be present in Akwa Ibom State to scout for young athletes.

GRASOF acknowledges the vision of Governor Pastor Umo Eno for youth development and sports growth in Akwa Ibom State and looks forward to a successful tournament.
