The Lagos State Government on Sunday, ordered a full investigation into an incident involving an ambulance near the finishing line of the 11th Access Bank Lagos City Marathon.

The vehicle, deployed for the marathon’s official medical emergency response, was conveying runners who earlier required medical attention when it came in contact with a female non-athlete within the event arena.

Officials immediately alerted the ambulance crew to stop as emergency responders swiftly attended to the woman, administered first aid and moved her to a public health facility for further evaluation.

Omotoso added that the Ministry of Health and the Lagos State Sports Commission are closely monitoring the situation, noting that senior government officials have visited the hospital.

He assured that a thorough investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
