The Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA) has trained its staff on drone operations as part of efforts to strengthen operational capacity and improve parking management across the state.

The two-week intensive training programme was designed to build technical capacity among personnel and equip them with the skills required for effective drone operation in parking enforcement and monitoring.

General Manager of LASPA, Adebisi Adelabu, said the initiative was aimed at deepening the agency’s technological capabilities and improving efficiency in parking operations across Lagos.

She explained that the integration of drone technology would enhance real-time monitoring of parking activities, improve enforcement, and strengthen data gathering and storage for better decision-making.

Adelabu noted that the current exercise is the second in the series of drone training organised by the Authority.

According to her, the training is being handled by LASPA officials who had earlier undergone professional certification under Tolulope Shosimi, an FAA-certified commercial drone pilot from Tolu Shosimi Studios.

She said the already trained officers are expected to cascade the knowledge to newly selected personnel, a move she described as key to accelerating the Authority’s transition to technology-driven operations.

The LASPA management stated that the programme aligns with the agency’s core values of technology and innovation, stressing that the adoption of modern tools is necessary to improve service delivery in a rapidly growing megacity.

The Authority reaffirmed its commitment to continuous innovation and capacity building, noting that the use of advanced technology will enhance efficiency and ensure better parking management across Lagos State.
