The vice chancellor counselled to be morally upright, stressing that the university has zero tolerance for Sexual and Gender-based violence, and that informed the decision to establish the Directorate of Response and Prevention of Sexual and Gender based violence in the school.

“Do not keep silent when you are harassed or assaulted in any manner. “If you see something, say something”.  Show respect to your Colleagues and Staff in the University to make your stay successful and productive,” she added.

She noted that their welfare is the school’s highest priority, and it will ensure that the learning environment remains conducive and competitive for learning.

Prof.Olatunji-Bello assured them that security in and around the university is paramount to the university authorities, stressing that adequate security measures have been put in place.

While urging them to be dedicated wholly to their studies, she said, “Make the most of your time here at LASU. Take advantage of all the resources available to you, engage with your peers in meaningful discussions, participate in extracurricular activities, and above all, strive for excellence in everything you do. Remember that education is a privilege, and it is up to you to make the most of it.
