High Chief Promise Lawuru, popularly known as "Ozigizaga," has picked up his expression of interest and nomination forms under the All Progressives Congress (APC) to contest for the House of Representatives seat in Warri constituency.

With his entry into the race, he will challenge the third-term ambition of the incumbent, Hon. Thomas Erheyitomi who has occupied the seat since 2019.

Supporters argue that the constituency is hungry for the "vibrant, accessible, and acceptable" leadership that the Ozigizaga brand represents.

"This is not just about a form; it is about a liberation movement," a spokesperson for the Warri Federal Constituency Peoples Forum (WFCPF), which has been at the forefront of the pressure on Lawuru to run, stated.

Lawuru is being hailed for his ability to transcend tribal lines, a crucial factor in the often-complex Warri political theatre.

His long history of humanitarian work and grassroots mobilisation has earned him a massive following, particularly among women and the younger generation.

The "Youth O’Clock" mantra is gaining traction with many believing Lawuru is the right candidate to align the constituency with the developmental efforts of the federal government.
