Mixed reactions has trailed the appearance of Yoruba nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, who was spotted wearing a cap displaying the logo of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Igboho had attended the state congress of the party held at Liberty Stadium, Ibadan.

He then proceeded to the palace of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasheed Ladoja’s first Ramadan lecture on Tuesday, March 3 which was attended by religious leaders, traditional rulers and other prominent figures.

In the now-viral video, Igboho was seen greeting the monarch and the event’s guest lecturer, Chief Imam of Offa, Sheikh Muyideen Salmon, in the APC-branded cap.

The activist’s choice of fez cap, clearly branded with the APC logo, caught the attention of attendees and social media users.

The now-viral video has elicited flurry of reactions. Here are some of the reactions:

@Riddwane said: “Sunday Igboho is a full-blooded politician, despite venturing into self-determination movement.

“He never hid behind one finger like the Sokoto inmate. Igboho was in PDP for years before his ordeal. Seeing him in APC cap will only surprise his PDP folks. He never betrayed you.”

@Benking443 said: “Mehn you just have to respect Nnamdi Kalu the more.

“Our amiable freedom fighter, Sunday Igboho has joined the City Boy Movement.”

Another user named Samuel Olafusi on Facebook lamented the injustice meted out to convicted IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, asking why he is still in detention.

He wrote, “Wait, is that an APC cap on his head? If you really join, you become a saint. Why has Nnamdi Kanu not been released? They got punished for the same reasons. Nigeria is truly divided, and we live in a transitional democracy.

@ceorosiovend in his own argument, he said: “Everyone have the right to make a choice and it has to be respected.”

@UnparallelJ: “Sunday igboho is a Nigerian and should be allowed to freely support whoever he wants ....if Nnamdi kanu eventually leaves prison, he can freely support Obi if he so wish. Igboho has every right to Support President Tinubu”
