Crowds of youths and political friends turned up in large numbers in Mubi town, Adamawa State, towards the weekend to welcome back home a renowned philanthropist, Alhaji Abdulrahman Buba Kwacham.
The home-coming of Kwacham after a long time away, attracted a long convoy that made its way through the streets as the aclaimed unity advocate paid visits to some places, notably the Palace of the Emir of Mubi, the Mubi North Secretriat of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and his private redidence.
Chants of support groups in the convoy amplified growing calls for Kwacham to contest the Adamawa North Senatorial District seat in the 2027 general election, a step that will bring him in direct contest with Governor Ahmadu Fintiri (from Madagali) who is widely speculated to be keen about going to the Senate as he ends his tenure at the Government House Yola come 2027.

Supporters of Kwacham from across the five local government areas of the northern zone: Madagali, Maiha, Michika, Mubi North, and Mubi South converged on Mubi, describing the reception for Kwacham as a signal of grassroots acceptance and readiness for a new era of representation.
A political associate, Abubakar Inuwa, said Kwacham is a generous man who has been attracting jobs and other favours for the people despite not occupying any high public office in Abuja.
Leader of a youth group drumming support for Kwacham, Muktar Abubakar, said Kwacham has been a lifeline giver to otherwise helpless people, prompting the young ones to be asking him to seek to represent them in the Senate.
At the palace of the Emir of Mubi where he expressed gratitude for the traditional title of Sarkin Fulani Mubi which he was honoured with, the Emir, Alhaji Isa Amadu said Kwacham's commitment to humanitarian causes recommended him for the honour.
In his response, Kwancham expressed gratitude for the warm reception and the honour bestowed on him and pledged continued support for the stability, peaceful co-existence and development of the state.
