The Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA), Cornelius Adebayo, and engineer, has expressed confidence that the agency will significantly transform Nigeria’s agricultural sector and improve livelihoods across the country.

Adebayo made this known in Lagos at a three-day retreat organised for NALDA directors and heads of departments.

The executive secretary, in a statement issued to journalists in Abuja yesterday, stated that NALDA’s ongoing initiatives are positioned not only to reshape the trajectory of agriculture but also to play a critical role in lifting millions of Nigerians out of poverty in the near future.

According to him, the retreat with the theme: “Leading Nigeria’s Agricultural Revolution Steering NALDA Towards Excellence (From Vision to Abundance Creating Strategic Alignment to Drive Results and Scale Impact), was aimed at fostering the culture of excellence in the execution of NALDA’s mandate.

He explained that the objectives of the retreat was to align the leadership of the authority with its ongoing projects and their strategic importance to Nigeria’s economic development and articulate a clear short, medium and long term vision for the Authority.

This, he said, is in line with its strategic mandate to ensure food sovereignty in Nigeria.

He added that the Authority’s programmes are designed to enhance productivity, create jobs, and drive inclusive growth, thereby strengthening the sector’s contribution to national development.

He reiterated the agency’s commitment to implementing sustainable agricultural policies and interventions aimed at improving food security and economic prosperity.

He however urged the directors and Heads of Departments to renew their commitment to continuous learning and adopt innovative approaches in the execution of their responsibilities, in addition to strengthening collaboration and synergy across departments to enhance the Authority’s service delivery to Nigerians.
