The six Zonal Coordinators of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) have emphasised the need for strict adherence to its  constitution, accountability, and neutrality to strengthen the unity, stability, and institutional integrity of NANS.

In a statement jointly by the Chairman, Forum of Zonal Coordinators, Hussaini Jamilu Ebbo and the six Zonal Coordinators, they underscored the need for credibility in the forthcoming convention.

This was just as  they congratulated Comr. Oladele Samuel Omotayo  the Chairman of the Independent Convention Planning Committee (IN-CPC) and other members of the Commitee.

They urged the  chairman and members of the IN-CPC to remain impartial, focused, and guided by due process at every stage of the planning and execution of the convention, stressing that the entire student body across the federation looks forward to a process that reflects the true spirit of democracy, accountability, and inclusiveness.

"The responsibility before you is significant, as the credibility and success of the forthcoming convention depend largely on your neutrality, transparency, and strict adherence to the constitution of the association.

"As leaders representing the six geopolitical zones, we collectively reaffirm our full confidence in your ability to deliver a free, fair, credible, and hitch-free convention that will further strengthen the unity, stability, and institutional integrity of NANS.

"Be assured of our cooperation and support as you discharge this important national assignment. We are confident that you will surely deliver.

The NANS Constitution (Chatter of Demand) is clear on the processes of elections, therefore, I urge us all to cooperate with the committee that was set up for a befitting convention," they said in the statement.
