Alhaji Nasiru Haladu Danu, the Sardauan of the Dutse Emirate in Jigawa State and Tafida Babban Daura Emirate in Katsina State, has once again demonstrated his deep commitment to humanity. A compassionate philanthropist and a cheerful benefactor, he believes in the transformative power of education as a key to national progress. His philanthropic efforts are exemplified through his Nasiru Haladu Danu (NHD) Foundation, which has invested billions of Naira into various community development initiatives.

Recently, the foundation held the official launch of a scholarship program aimed at supporting over 100 indigent students across five emirates in Jigawa State. The event took place at the prestigious Nuhu Muhammad Sanusi Auditorium within the Federal University Dutse (FUD), a notable venue symbolizing academic excellence.

The ceremony was attended by distinguished representatives of the university’s leadership, led by Vice Chancellor Professor Ahmad Muhammad Gumel and University Registrar Alhaji Abubakar Mijinyawa, who served as key witnesses to this landmark event.

In his keynote address, Alhaji Nasiru Haladu Danu reiterated his unwavering dedication to human capital development. He emphasized that the scholarship scheme is part of a long-term strategy to empower the youth and promote sustainable education. Danu expressed his firm belief that education should be accessible to all, asserting that “when you educate a child, you lift them out of poverty.” He outlined plans to expand support beyond tertiary institutions, including scholarships for talented primary school pupils, to ensure a seamless educational journey from early childhood to secondary level.

The event also garnered significant community and traditional leader support, with His Highness, the Emir of Dutse, Alhaji (Dr.) Muhammad Hamim Nuhu Sanusi, CFR, represented by notable figures such as the Chiroman Dutse, Alhaji Bashir Nuhu Sanusi, CNA, and other prominent community leaders including Alhaji Bashir M. Dalhatu, Wazirin Dutse and Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Arewa Consultative Forum; Alhaji Mustapha Aminu, MNI, Wamban Dutse; Alhaji Adamu Aliyu Kiyawa, Dan Masani Dutse; Alhaji Wada Alhaji, Sarkin Fadar Dutse and Chief of Staff to the Emir’s Palace; Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim, Talban Dutse; and Alhaji Aminu Sani Musa, Yariman Dutse.

This collective support underscores the community’s recognition of education as a critical driver of societal development, affirming Alhaji Nasiru Danu’s vision to create a more educated, prosperous future for all.
