Week 8 of the Nathaniel Idowu-Ajegunle Under-14 Football League lived up to the hype, delivering a weekend of high-octane drama, clinical finishing, and shifting dynamics at the top of the table.

After a recent dip in form, Ajegunle United Sporting Club returned to winning ways with a gritty 2-0 home victory over Divinely Blessed FA. The hero of the hour was James Solomon, whose quick-fire brace (43’, 46’) secured the three points and a well-deserved Man of the Match (MOTM) award.

League leaders Fortune FA showed no mercy, dismantling Young 11 FA in a 7-1 masterclass. While Lateef Wasiu, Alao Quadri, and Akinola Olajide all feasted on goals, it was Odeshola Odunayo’s brace and creative spark that earned him the MOTM honors.

The most lopsided scoreline of the round belonged to Pure Talents FA, who cruised to a 6-0 win over Michael May FA. Ajaloleru Yesir was the star of the show, bagging a clinical hat-trick to claim the MOTM trophy.

Strong Dove kept their momentum alive, surviving a late scare to edge past Moree Wins. Early strikes from Ayinla Samod and Ajadi Ibrahim gave them a comfortable cushion before Lawal Jamiu pulled one back for the visitors. Midfield maestro Ayinde Taiye dictated the tempo throughout, earning him the MOTM nod.

In the weekend’s most balanced encounter, Bright Future and Coal City fought to a stalemate. Anine Emmanuel initially put Coal City ahead with a spirited effort that earned him the MOTM award, but Ezike Favour showed nerves of steel to equalize from the penalty spot, ensuring the points were shared.

Fortune FA remains the team to beat, sitting comfortably at the summit as the chasing pack scrambles to keep pace. With the table tightening and confidence high across the board, all eyes turn to Week 9 for the next chapter of this thrilling U14 campaign.
