Navy’s FOC hails Elumelu for empowerment initiatives

The Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) of the Western Naval Command (WNC), Rear Admiral Abubakar Mustapha, has hailed the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of United Bank for Africa (UBA), Mr. Tony Elumelu, for his outstanding contributions to economic development across Africa.

The FOC praised the eminent banker for his entrepreneurship empowerment initiatives that have impacted thousands of young Africans.

Rear Admiral Mustapha spoke whwn he led some naval officers to a visit to Elumelu at UBA group’s headquarters in Lagos.

The visit was also meant to strengthen existing ties between the Navy and the bank.

Rear Admiral Mustapha, who conveyed the goodwill of the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, said the visit was also meant to invite Elumelu to the Navy’s 70th anniversary and International Fleet Review in May.

Reiterating the navy’s commitment to securing the nation’s maritime domain, the FOC noted that enhanced surveillance, technology and intelligence sharing infrastructure have been put in place.

Elumelu reaffirmed his continued support for the Nigerian Navy’s efforts in promoting maritime security and national development.
