The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) is intensifying efforts to complete the five-star Radisson Hotel and Conference Centre in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, by December 2026, in a move expected to catalyse tourism, attract investors and position the Niger Delta as a destination for global business events.
The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, gave the assurance while addressing top executives of Edison Corporation and Megastar Technical and Construction Company after a one-day project management tour and workshop at the Nigerian Content Tower (NCT) in Yenagoa.

Ogbe described the hospitality project, being developed in partnership with the Radisson Hotel Group, as one of the Board’s priority investments, noting that its completion would mark a major milestone in the economic diversification of Bayelsa State.
“This project is critical to the Board, critical to Yenagoa, and to Bayelsa State and Nigeria. With this hotel becoming functional at the end of the year, tourism will grow in Bayelsa, and that is one of my dreams,” he said.
According to him, the Board has resolved key financing, scope and contracting issues, clearing the path for accelerated execution of the project. He added that the management of the Board is closely monitoring progress to ensure timely delivery.
The Chief Executive Officer of Edison Corporation, Vivian Reddy, expressed confidence in the partnership, stating that the Radisson Hotel and Conference Centre would place Yenagoa on the global hospitality and conference map.
He explained that affiliation with Radisson’s international network would make the facility visible to global travellers, corporate organisations and event planners searching for premium destinations.
“When anyone around the world searches for Radisson Yenagoa, they will see this location. That visibility alone will uplift the area in terms of visitors, tourism and investment,” he said.
Reddy disclosed that the contractual agreement took over 18 months of negotiations and documentation, describing the final deal as a strong vote of confidence in the business environment of Bayelsa State and Nigeria.
He assured that his company, working alongside the contractor, would deliver a world-class hotel that meets global five-star standards in construction, furnishing and service delivery.
The Radisson Hotel and Conference Centre, Yenagoa, according to a statement by the NCDMB Corporate Communications Division, will serve as a strategic hub for industry conferences, investor engagements and high-level meetings, strengthening Bayelsa’s capacity to host major oil and gas, maritime and investment events.
Industry stakeholders believe the project could significantly boost economic activities in the Niger Delta by creating jobs, supporting local suppliers and expanding the region’s tourism and hospitality value chain.
