An original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and new entrant into the Nigerian mobile devices space, Honor, said it is targeting the entire country with its range of products to deepen the mobile phones ecosystem.

Its National Retail Manager, Abiodun Tunde, who spoke during the formal entrance of the brand into the country and the launch of its flagship device, Honor X9D at Mariott Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, said the company has grown its partners from 10 to over 300 within a very short time, saying the ultimate goal is to achieve 100 per cent nationwide coverage.

According to Tunde, to produce mobile devices that meet the aspirations of its numerous customers globally, the company usually sets aside 11.5 per cent of its annual revenue for research and development (R&D). He added that the company has seven R&D centres across the world including China, Japan and France.

He assured its would-be customers in the country of a fair deal by producing global standard mobile devices at affordable prices that will not compromise quality.

According to him, the company has achieved 500 per cent market share in Middle East and Africa (MEA) with 83 per shipment growth. With a total number of 14,000 workforce, he said the company has also activated 52,000 retail outlets.

Also speaking on the occasion, a retail executive with Honor, Kayode Omokoku, said the company is investing $10billion, adding that the cross licence deal the OEM struck with Nokia would boost its fifth generation (5G) enabled mobile devices.

Omokoku who gave a detailed insight into the mobile device launched, said it is water-resistant and is built with enhanced gorilla screen that insulates it from damages the way other OEMS mobile devices crack and shatter at the closest contact after a fall.

He said the device contained features such as Honor Alpha Plan, AI rewriting hardware, multimodal perception, personalised decision, automated design and many others.
