News Central shines at the 2nd Nigeria Broadcasting Awards

At the second edition of The Nigeria Broadcasting Awards, two of News Central's finest Anchors were awarded amidst fierce competition.

Organised by the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria, the 2nd BON Awards was a moment of recognition and reward for the giant strides achieved over the past year in Nigerian journalism.

The station received various nominations that recognise the station's work across programming, presentation, and original production.

News Central was shortlisted for Best Television Station in Original Production, Best Television Production in Documentary or Feature, and Best Television Show.

Dapo Adegboye of Politics HQ clinched the Presenter of the Year Award, and Babatunde Koiki of Game On also brought home the prize for Best TV station in Original production in Business/Drama/Sports. Two of the station's presenters also received individual nominations.

Dashen Hussaina Usman is nominated for News Caster of the Year, while Blessings Mosugu was nominated in the Presenter of the Year category.

The awards ceremony took place on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at the NAF Conference Centre in Abuja, bringing together broadcasters and industry stakeholders from across the country.

The recognition reflects News Central's unstoppable rise in delivering credible journalism, original storytelling, and engaging programming to audiences in Nigeria and across Africa. The Nigeria Broadcasting Awards recognise excellence in broadcasting and celebrate individuals and organisations contributing to the growth of the industry.
