Yẹmi Emiola, a Nigerian banker with over two decades of experience, is attracting attention for his role in major international financial transactions and strategic negotiations.

Emiola began his career in the late 1990s with Standard Chartered Bank in Lagos and later continued his banking career in Qatar, where he worked with Standard Chartered as well as other financial institutions, including Barwa Bank, Al Khaliji Bank, and Qatar National Bank.

During his time at Qatar National Bank, Emiola was actively involved in the acquisition of a 23.5 per cent stake in Ecobank, which has since increased to 27.5 per cent.

Industry sources note that he has played key roles in several high-value transactions, including serving as lead negotiator for telecom deals linked to TIGO operations across Chad, Burkina Faso, Senegal, and Mali. He also contributed to the restructuring of a coal mining project in Indonesia.

Emiola was further involved in the acquisition of a 99 per cent stake in the second-largest commercial bank in Turkey for Qatar National Bank, reinforcing his profile as a specialist in complex cross-border deals.

In 2024, he was part of the delegation that accompanied Bola Ahmed Tinubu on a three-day investment trip to Qatar aimed at strengthening bilateral economic ties.

He has also participated in several global forums, including the ECOWAS–Japan Business Forum in Tokyo, the Hydrocarbon Summit in Osaka, and a United Nations conference for developing countries in 2023. He was also among those involved in facilitating Africa’s first bitumen conference held in Cape Town.

Emiola is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Soul-Rich International Consultancy Limited, a business and financial consulting firm based in Abuja. He is regarded by observers as part of a growing group of Nigerian professionals contributing to global finance and investment.
