Afrobeats singer Omah Lay has revealed that the Nigerian music scene is "full of egos," attributing this as a factor in his preference for a small social circle.
In a recent podcast appearance on Nando Leaks, the Soso crooner described himself as having a "weird" personality, stating that he doesn't seek external validation and only connects with those who understand him.
Omah Lay, who admits to having a large ego despite being reserved, strives to balance this trait with humility to avoid hindering his progress.

He revealed that he has few friends, mostly those who make an effort to understand him.
“I have a very weird personality. I believe I am just that guy, so I don’t have a lot of friends. I don’t talk to a lot of people, just very few people, and those people are people who try to come into my world and understand where I am going.
“The Nigerian music scene is full of egos. I am a chill guy, but I have too much ego. It is hard to make friends like that,” Omah Lay said.
