National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria is to hold its LEADHERS in Marketing Conference: “Redefining Influence: Women Shaping Future of Marketing”, on Friday in Lagos

The conference is coming at a time conversations around women empowerment are dominating global discourse. Today, gender inclusion, management leadership positions and economic involvement for women are receiving greater attention.

Many organisations are rising, speaking for women with less groups speaking for men.

Bolajoko Bayo-Ajayi, president and chair of the institute the first woman leader, told journalists the emphasis is about driving leadership within women in marketing. “For us, the vision we have is to ensure we are building women into leadership positions in marketing”, she said.

She reiterated the institute’s commitment to excellence and inclusive growth, saying this empowerment programme is part of a broader strategy to reposition the marketing profession for economic growth.

Explaining the theme, she said it is about “how you also influence other people within your area. For example, you have someone who is a CEO, who has probably gone through marketing. The job doesn’t end in your personal achievements” as others need to learn from the executive.
