NLNG wins 20th oil, gas industry games

Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) emerged overall Champion and Best Sports Company at the 20th edition of the Nigeria Oil and Gas Industry Games (NOGIG), which ended on Saturday in Abuja.

Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) emerged overall Champion and Best Sports Company at the 20th edition of the Nigeria Oil and Gas Industry Games (NOGIG), which ended on Saturday in Abuja.

Team NLNG topped the medals table with 52 medals, 20 gold, 16 silver, and 16 bronze, displacing defending champions Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), who came second with 49 medals made up of 14 gold, 15 silver, and 20 bronze.

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) placed third with 18 medals, while TotalEnergies finished fourth with 15 medals.

Other participants included Renaissance, Oando, Seplat Energy, Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), ND Western, Chevron, Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), ExxonMobil, Shell, and Aradel.

The biennial games, held from February 8 to 14, marked 40 years of unity, collaboration, and sporting excellence in the oil and gas industry.

Leading the NLNG delegation at the stadium was the Deputy Managing Director, Olakunle Osobu, who praised the team for reflecting the company’s values on and off the field.

He said the victory demonstrated the resilience, discipline, and unity that define NLNG, adding that excellence in the company goes beyond business performance to include teamwork, wellness, and healthy competition.

Organisers described the 20th edition as a landmark, highlighting the industry’s commitment to corporate camaraderie, collaboration, and sportsmanship.

With chants of Team NLNG and Champions echoing around the arena, the win further strengthens NLNG’s standing not only in the energy sector but also in promoting unity and excellence through sports.
