The battle for promotion from the Nigeria National League (NNL) is reaching a decisive phase, with crucial fixtures across all four conferences set to shape the race for the coveted Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) tickets.

In Southern Conference A, leaders, Inter Lagos FC will have to wait a little longer to defend their top spot after their high-profile clash against Heartland was postponed due to the unavailability of the Mobolaji Johnson Arena.

That delay opens the door for second-placed Beyond Limits, who travel to Ogbomosho to face Crown FC. The Ajilete Boys, currently sixth with 15 points, are desperate to end a three-game losing streak, but they face a stern test against a Beyond Limits side eager to seize top position.

Elsewhere, Sunshine Stars that are seventh with 15 points will return home in Akure seeking redemption against Smart City after their heartbreaking stoppage-time defeat to Heartland in Owerri. The Owena Whales must secure maximum points to steer clear of relegation worries, while fourth-placed Smart City (20 points) could strengthen their promotion push with a positive result on the road.

Edel FC are also in a strong position to secure their NNL status when they host Abia Comets. Buoyed by their impressive draw against Beyond Limits in Ikenne, Edel (16 points) could effectively condemn the eighth-placed visitors (12 points) to relegation by opening up a significant gap.

In Southern Conference B, attention turns to a fierce local derby as Godswill Akpabio United face leaders Akwa United. Sitting seventh with 19 points, the hosts are fighting to escape the relegation zone, while Akwa United aim to preserve their four-point lead at the summit. Meanwhile, Sporting Lagos who could also influence the title race have seen their fixture against Rovers rescheduled.

With three relegation spots up for grabs in the group, the pressure is mounting on teams near the bottom. Osun United, eighth with 17 points, must deliver when they host third-placed Stormers (23 points) to keep survival hopes alive.

Ekiti United, sixth with 21 points, will look to maintain their perfect home record when they welcome Abakaliki FC, with a win potentially lifting them into the top five.

In Northern Conference C, leaders Doma United have a golden opportunity to extend their advantage when they host bottom-placed Mighty Jets. The Gombe-based side are edging closer to a return to the top flight following their recent draw in Ilorin.

Second-placed FC Basira (18 points) will be determined to pile more pressure on struggling ABS in Lafia, while Lobi Stars face a crucial test against Kada Warriors in their final home game of the season. Both sides are level on 17 points, making it a high-stakes encounter in the race to avoid relegation.

Elsewhere, City FC take on Sokoto United in another fixture that could have implications at both ends of the table.

In Northern Conference D, leaders Yobe Desert Stars are on a bye, presenting a big opportunity for their closest challengers. Ranchers Bees (17 points) can reclaim top spot with a win over bottom-placed Kebbi United, who are battling relegation with just 10 points.

Jigawa Golden Stars will also look to capitalize as they host Bichi First FC, aiming to keep the pressure on the leaders, while Adamawa United face Gombe United in a bid to further distance themselves from the drop zone.
