Ezzy International College of Nursing Sciences, Akpuoga Nike, Enugu State, has matriculated 168 students into its nursing and midwifery programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The institution charged the students to uphold integrity and professional discipline throughout their training.

The ceremony, which marked the institution’s second matriculation and capping exercise, drew dignitaries, faculty members, parents and well-wishers to witness the formal induction of the students into the profession.

Chief Executive Officer of Ezzy International Group of Companies, Dr. Gloria Chijioke Bertram-Okoli, congratulated the students and urged them to maintain high standards of professionalism, moral conduct and dedication to duty.

She said the healthcare profession demands not only intellectual competence but also compassion, integrity and commitment to saving lives.

In a lecture titled “Building a Culture of Academic Integrity and Professional Discipline,” delivered by a United States-based medical expert, Dr Nelson Aliyu, and represented by Sanni Kafeel Abdulkadir, the students were reminded of the importance of honesty and discipline in their training.

Abdulkadir said academic integrity remains the foundation of credible healthcare delivery, urging the students to shun malpractice and unprofessional conduct.

According to him, their training goes beyond the classroom and extends to preserving human life, dignity and trust, noting that honesty in examinations and sincerity in clinical practice are critical to building competent professionals.

The Provost, Mrs Ugwuanyi Augustina Ngozi, conducted the capping segment of the ceremony, describing it as a symbolic rite marking the students’ readiness for supervised clinical training and patient care.

The college administrator, Mrs. Okwudu Ifeyinwa Peace, reiterated the institution’s commitment to quality education, practical exposure, and mentorship aimed at producing globally competitive nurses and midwives.

Parents and guardians commended the institution’s value-driven approach to training, expressing confidence in the students' future.

The event ended with the matriculating students pledging to uphold the profession's ethics and to strive for excellence in their academic and clinical pursuits.
