Former Nigeria International Osaze Odemwingie has fired a word of caution to Victor Osimhen as the summer transfer window draws near, urging his compatriot to avoid a pressure cooker environment in case he wants a move away from Galatasaray.
Odemwingie has categorically advised the Super Eagles’ ace striker to think carefully before making a potential move to Manchester United, citing the immense pressure that comes with leading the line at Old Trafford.
“The problem there is huge,” he told Brila FM. “The expectations on strikers are immense. You have to stay away from that environment.”

Drawing from past examples, he noted how even established forwards have struggled under the spotlight. “We’ve seen this with Romelu Lukaku and others. At a club that big, results are everything, and someone always becomes the scapegoat.”
Instead, Odemwingie pointed towards clubs like Arsenal and Barcelona as more suitable destinations, describing them as “mature environments” where Osimhen’s qualities can truly flourish.
He also highlighted Real Madrid as a strong option, praising Osimhen’s pace, aerial strength, and ability to thrive in expansive attacking systems.
“Wherever he goes, he can make a difference,” Odemwingie added. “His speed, movement, and physical presence are perfect for top-level football.”
