Chief Executive, Dr. Ifeanyi Ochonogor, noted the need for collective action in addressing environmental and health dangers posed by improper disposal of electronic waste.
He said: “The time has come for citizens, government, and relevant stakeholders to work together to combat electronic waste and ensure a safer and cleaner environment for present and future generations.”
Dr. Ochonogor informed participants about plans on Africa’s first Waste Recycling and Refining Facility in Sagamu.
He said the project would enhance sustainable waste management, create jobs, and further position Ogun State as a hub for environmental innovation and circular economic development in Africa.
The workshop featured presentations, panel discussions, and interactive sessions aimed at promoting awareness, collaboration, and sustainable approaches to e-waste management within Ogun State and beyond.
