Former Imo State Governor, Ikedi Ohakim, has praised President Bola Tinubu for stabilising Nigeria since assuming office.

Speaking at the inauguration of 12 ward coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area, Ohakim said, “Nigeria was like a sinking ship before President Tinubu came on board. He has steadied the ship, and it is sailing again.”

Describing the Renewed Hope Ambassadors as a philosophy rooted in unity and love, Ohakim emphasized that the group’s grassroots structure would soon outweigh online discourse in influence.

The event attracted political leaders, party faithful, government officials, and community figures. Renewed Hope Ambassadors State Coordinator, Goodluck Opiah, stated that the group would collaborate with party structures to advance the Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that several of President Tinubu’s policies have been widely misunderstood despite their impact on sectors such as education, agriculture, and national security.

The inaugurated ward coordinators, comprising professionals including lawyers, engineers, and entrepreneurs, were selected to effectively propagate the Renewed Hope message across the LGA.

Chief Ogemdi Ibeawuchi, Local Government Area Coordinator of RHA in Isiala Mbano, officiated the inauguration. He explained that the coordinators were chosen after “careful and thorough scrutiny” to promote the tangible and intangible benefits of Bola Tinubu’s policies and programmes.

Chief Ibeawuchi added that the core mandate of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors is to advocate, enlighten, and educate the public while supporting the All Progressives Congress in outreach, engagement, and mobilisation efforts.

“Our ward coordinators are expected to work hand-in-hand with party leadership and government officials as partners in progress, to drive home the message that under President Tinubu and our Governor, Hope Uzodimma, major infrastructure projects have been delivered while more are ongoing,” he said.

Ibeawuchi assured the Imo State leadership that the coordinators would not only take the Renewed Hope message to the grassroots but would also provide feedback critical to achieving the organisation’s objectives.

He pledged the loyalty of the Isiala Mbano chapter to President Tinubu, Governor Uzodimma, and the Imo State Renewed Hope Ambassadors leadership led by Rt. Hon Goodluck Opiah.

Speaking, Rt. Hon. Goodluck Opiah, Imo State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, said the delegation was in Isiala Mbano to formally witness the inauguration of ward coordinators who reflect the values of quality, integrity, and commitment to service.

“Our LGA coordinators are men of character and capacity. What we have seen here reflects the kind of leadership we desire in the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, from the LGA down to the polling units,” Opiah said.

He stressed that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors is not in competition with the APC but functions as an advocacy platform made up of committed and disciplined party members whose duty is to sell the policies of the President and the leadership of the party at all levels.

Opiah noted that many of President Tinubu’s policies have been misinterpreted despite their far-reaching impact across sectors such as education, agriculture, and national security.

Also speaking, the APC Chairman in Isiala Mbano LGA, Hon. C.Y. Obichendu, congratulated the ward coordinators and urged them to work in unity with party structures at the LGA and ward levels, assuring them of full support.

The Deputy Majority Leader of the Imo State House of Assembly and member representing Isiala Mbano State Constituency, Hon. Chief Sam Osuji, described the ward ambassadors as “political guerrillas” who would effectively deliver on their mandate, declaring total support for the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and the APC in the LGA.

On her part, Hon. Princess Miriam Onuoha, member representing Okigwe North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, praised the rapid growth of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors under Opiah’s leadership and congratulated the 12 ward coordinators on their inauguration. She affirmed that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and the APC would work together seamlessly for the interest of the party at all levels.
