Ona Ara Council APC stakeholders demand Reps ticket
Youth groups, artisans, traders, indigenes, and residents of Ona Ara Local Government Area of Oyo State have declared that it is the turn of the council to produce the next

Youth groups, artisans, traders, indigenes, and residents of Ona Ara Local Government Area of Oyo State have declared that it is the turn of the council to produce the next lawmaker to represent the Egbeda/Ona Ara Federal Constituency in 2027.
The stakeholders urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) to zone its House of Representatives ticket to Ona Ara Local Government.
They expressed support for the candidacy of Ashimiu Adio, describing him as a “bona fide son of Ona Ara” and the most qualified aspirant to represent the constituency in the Green Chamber.
Backed by historical representation data, the groups pointed to an imbalance between the two local government areas that make up the constituency.

According to them, Egbeda Local Government has held the seat for a cumulative 20 years: Adegoke Adewale from 2003 to 2011, Olayemi Busari from 2011 to 2015, and Akin Alabi from 2019 to date.
“In contrast, Ona Ara Local Government has only produced representatives for eight years: Jenrade Kareem from 1999 to 2003 and Taiwo Akinola from 2015 to 2019. It is the turn of Ona Ara Local Government, and the most suitable aspirant is Ashimiu Adio, who is loved by everyone,” they said.
The group described Adio as a loyal party man who has demonstrated sacrifice for the APC, adding that he stepped down twice in previous election cycles after being persuaded by party leaders, paving the way for Akin Alabi’s emergence.
They appealed to APC leaders at the state and national levels to uphold fairness and equity by ceding the 2027 ticket to Ona Ara, with Adio as the consensus choice.
