African Democratic Congress (ADC) leader in Ondo State, Myson Nejo, has declared that the party in the state is not aligned with former Vice- President Atiku Abubakar, amid deepening internal crisis.
Nejo, who described himself as the leader of the party in Ondo State, accused some former members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of attempting to hijack the party structure in the state for their political agenda.
He said ADC in Ondo State did not belong to, and would not be ceded to Atiku, insisting that the party must remain independent and inclusive of all tendencies within its fold.

Speaking with The Nation in Akure yesterday amid the ongoing internal crisis rocking the party, the former governorship candidate accused some defectors from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo of attempting to seize control of the party machinery with what he described as “arrogance and a predetermined agenda.”
He also alleged that the involvement of former Senate President David Mark and ex-Osun State governor Rauf Aregbesola in the party’s leadership affair had worsened the crisis rocking the coalition-backed ADC.
“It is unfortunate that what we are facing in Ondo State today is a situation where individuals are trying to impose leadership amid widespread crisis. This cannot work.
“Their plan is to hand over the party to Atiku Abubakar. If this is what they want, they should rename it ‘Atiku Democratic Congress.’ But let me be clear: Ondo ADC is not for Atiku. Quote me anywhere,” he declared.
Nejo said he played a key role in sustaining the party’s presence in the state before the emergence of new entrants, stressing that he secured a third-place finish in the last governorship election without external influence.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the growth of the party in Ondo State, urging stakeholders to embrace inclusiveness, fairness and respect for existing structures in order to avoid further crisis.
