After 36 matches played by all teams, Rangers International of Enugu are top of the standings with 62 points, one more than closest chasers Rivers United while Shooting Stars of Ibadan are third with 57 points .
With two match days remaining for the season to finish, it is without doubt that the 2025-2026 campaign has been the most frenetic, intriguing, combating and competitive season that followers of the Nigerian top flight have witnessed in recent years
The level of performance displayed this season by all teams has been nothing short of exceptional as clubs competed toe to toe, knee to knee and head to head for the right to get the winners trophy, the continental tickets while others engaged in the battle to beat the dreaded drop to the relegation to the lower league.
For Warri Wolves, who not long ago got relegated and had to battle their way back to the fancied Premier League, the journey in this season's top flight has been up and about and as the curtain is gradually being set to be drawn to cap it, the race has gotten intense in the camp of the Delta State government funded team look to finish the season on a high.
At the weekend, Warri Wolves took another giant step in their push for a top 10 finish when they defeated Plateau United 1-0, with a very strong support coming from Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission, Onos Oborevwori, who was on the pitch side, giving emotional, psychological and mental support to the team.
Onos Oborevwori has been an ever present feature in Delta State Sports, always giving his all to ensure that sports in the State reputed to be the undisputed champions of Nigerian sports remain in the front page.
He is the Sports Commission chairman who gets involved with cheering the teams, tending to the players needs all in an effort to ensure they finish well on the table.
In Ozoro, all these were in excess supply as Onos Oborevwori bent overboard to give the needed booster that propelled Warri Wolves to score the solitary goal that made all the difference and gave them all three points against Plateau United.
With those three points in their kitty, Warri Wolves now have 46 points and 12th on the table and interestingly, with two matches left to play in the season, the Delta State government funded team can finish within the top eight of all the results go their way and realistically, end up in the top 10 bracket, as only four points separate all the seven teams from the eight position to 14th position.
Seemingly aware of these variables, Onos Oborevwori has obviously gone into overdrive to ensure that Warri Wolves win their remaining two matches and watch others wobble and falter, ensuring that Warri Wolves finish the season within the top 10 bracket.
Speaking moments after the defeat of Plateau United in Ozoro, Onos Oborevwori praised Warri Wolves team for putting up a good fight in a great game and charged them to step harder and better on the throttle in their last games.
