Paul Onuachu etched his name into the history books of Trabzonspor after finding the net in Friday's clash against Fatih Karagümrük, extending his remarkable scoring run to six consecutive league matches.

According to Turkish sports daily Fanatik, the towering Nigeria striker surpassed the previous best of five games held by former forward and current head coach Fatih Tekke during his playing days, while also eclipsing past five-match runs recorded by Shota Arveladze and Paulo Henrique.

Fatih Tekke found the net in five consecutive league matches during the 2004–2005 season, scoring against Malatyaspor, Gençlerbirliği, Denizlispor, Gaziantepspor and Sakaryaspor.

He later embarked on another impressive scoring streak from matchday 30 to 34 in the same campaign.

Onuachu currently leads the scoring charts in the Süper Lig with 18 goals in 21 appearances, seven of which have come via headers, a testament to his formidable aerial dominance.

Since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations, the FC Ebedei graduate has found the net in every match he has featured in, registering eight goals in total — seven in the league and one in the Turkish Cup.

Against Fatih Karagümrük, Onuachu also teed up compatriot Chibuike Nwaiwu with a header before the latter put the result beyond doubt in the 50th minute of the 3-1 encounter.
