Paul Onuachu was the match winner for Trabzonspor to win 2-1 at Gaziantep in  the  Turkish Super Lig clash on Sunday

Onuachu hit target in the 27th minute to make it 2-1 in favour of his club.

After losing to Fenerbahce last week, Trabzonspor needed to return to winning ways, and they did just that.

Although they had a tough start, conceding in the 22nd  minute courtesy of Mohamed Bayo, Trabzonspor rallied back to claim the win.

Two goals from Felipe Augusto and Onuachu sealed the deal. After Felipe Augusto scored in the 24th  minute, Onuachu added his three minutes later.

The Super Eagles star pounced on the rebound of Mustafa Eskihellaç's blocked shot and fired a low shot past Zafer Gorgen in Gaziantep's goal.

The home side had a plethora of chances to score, but Trabzonspor goalie Andre Onana was in his elements on the night, as he made six big saves to keep his side in the game.

Onuachu  is the leading scorer in the Turkish top league with 17 goals. This is already two goals more than what he achieved in the 2023/2024 season when he was on loan from Southampton.

Soccerway credited the giant striker with a personal rating of 7.6 points.

Trabzonspor consolidated third place with 48 points from 23 matches, seven points behind leaders Galatasaray.
