Nigeria midfielder Frank Onyeka delivered an impressive performance as Coventry City F.C. secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion F.C. in the Championship, Afrik-Foot reports.

The Super Eagles star, making only his second appearance for Coventry, controlled the midfield throughout the contest. Onyeka played 86 minutes and was later named Player of the Match after a dominant display.

The midfielder completed 73 percent of his passes, created one key chance, and contributed defensively with an interception, three clearances, a blocked sho,t and five ball recoveries. He also won three of his four tackles and claimed eight of 12 duels, helping his side dictate the tempo.

It was another encouraging outing for Onyeka following his strong debut against Middlesbrough F.C., as Coventry recorded back-to-back victories to boost their promotion ambitions.

Under manager Frank Lampard, the Sky Blues continued the momentum from their recent win over Middlesbrough by producing a confident performance at The Hawthorns.

Coventry took an early lead when Ephron Mason-Clark scored his seventh goal of the season.

The move began after Onyeka won possession in midfield, allowing Milan van Ewijk to set up Mason-Clark, who calmly lifted the ball over goalkeeper Max O’Leary.

Coventry’s second goal soon followed. After another turnover of possession, Jack Rudoni was given too much space outside the box and fired a powerful left-foot shot from 25 yards to score his first goal in 21 matches.
