Oodua People’s Congress New Era has dismissed Shina Akinpelu for gross misconduct and a nonchalant attitude toward affairs of the congress.

The decision was conveyed in Lagos through a letter by the Secretary, Chief Bayo Oyename.

According to the statement, the resolution followed deliberations by the national body of the congress.

Oyename said Akinpelu’s conduct was inconsistent with the values, principles, and discipline expected of members.

The leadership emphasised that the dismissal takes immediate effect and warned that any attempt by Akinpelu to represent or act on behalf of the organisation would not be recognised.

The statement reads: “This is to inform the press, public enlightenment and the public that Shina Akinpelu had been dismissed from Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) due to his nonchallant attitude and gross misconduct in the congress. Henceforth, he cannot act or parade himself as a member of OP Congres.”

The group reaffirmed its commitment to upholding discipline among members and ensuring that its objectives are pursued in line with its constitution and established guidelines.
