Concert for Change, a non-profit organisation supporting orphans and children living with disabilities, has disbursed N55 million to five beneficiary organisations in Nigeria following the Green Worship 8 Benefit Concert.
The event in Lagos brought together five charities from different parts of the country that dedicate time and resources to take care of people living with disabilities and rewarded them each with N11 million.
The beneficiary organisations are Comrade David Ofoeyeno School for Special Children in Warri; Marvellous Foundation Orphans Care Centre, Minna; Super Parent Foundation, Lagos; Hope Orphanage, Akure; and Learning Disabilities Society of Nigeria, Uyo.
The money is to support infrastructure development, acquisition of specialised equipment, therapy services, educational resources, and other interventions to improve welfare of vulnerable children.
The disbursement represents a 49.66 per cent increase from the N36.75 million distributed last year, marking nearly a 50 per cent year-on-year growth. The additional N18.25 million underscores increased donor participation and the expanding reach of the initiative.
Managing Trustee of Concert for Change, Wale Adenuga, said the growth reflects sustained compassion and commitment from supporters.
“Every year, we are reminded compassion is still alive. This increase is not just a financial milestone, it is proof individuals are willing to give to support children who might otherwise be forgotten. Our commitment is clear: transparency, impact, and partnership with credible charities,” Adenuga said.
