Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ife Central Local Government Area of Osun State have commended President Bola Tinubu, former governor Bisi Akande, and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, for the selection of Ife-born politician, Kayode Adereti, as the running mate to the party’s governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.
The party leaders, in a communiqué signed by Babajide Omoworare, Professor Taiwo Olaiya, and former Deputy Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Nike Omoworare, among others, described the choice as strategic and capable of strengthening the party’s support base ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
According to the communiqué, stakeholders at a solidarity meeting in Ajebandele, Ile-Ife, expressed appreciation to the APC leadership for picking Engr. Benjamin Kayode Adereti as the party’s deputy governorship candidate for the August 2026 poll.
They noted that the decision reflects recognition of Ile-Ife’s contributions to the political development of Osun State and Nigeria.

The leaders described Adereti as an accomplished professional and loyal party member, whose track record of service earned him the APC ticket for the Ife Federal Constituency during the 2023 general elections.
They added that his emergence as a deputy governorship candidate is well deserved and a source of pride for the people of Ife.
The communiqué further stated that Adereti’s experience and grassroots appeal complement the leadership qualities of Oyebamiji, expressing confidence that the joint ticket would strengthen the party’s chances at the polls.
The leaders also praised the APC leadership for what they described as inclusive decision-making, expressing optimism that the Oyebamiji-Adereti ticket would consolidate on the Renewed Hope agenda of the Tinubu administration.
