More than 100 market women in Egbeda have received free healthcare services through a medical outreach organised by Sytiamo Technology Limited in partnership with the Lagos State Ministry of Health.

The initiative, held within the Egbeda Market community, offered services including blood pressure checks, blood sugar testing, Body Mass Index (BMI) assessments, general medical consultations, and the distribution of free medications to beneficiaries requiring immediate treatment.

Organisers said the programme targeted the often-neglected health needs of grassroots women, many of whom lack the time and resources to seek proper medical attention due to the demands of daily trading.

Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of Sytiamo Technology Limited, Micheal Ogbaa, stressed that empowerment extends beyond financial support.

He noted that good health enables women to effectively run their businesses, care for their families, and contribute meaningfully to society.

Ogbaa added that the outreach created a rare opportunity for women in the busy market environment to prioritise their well-being.

He said the initiative forms part of the company’s broader commitment to supporting women at the grassroots level, not only economically but also socially and health-wise, reflecting a growing emphasis among organisations on community impact.

According to him, the program's success was driven by coordinated efforts in planning, partnerships, execution, and community engagement, underpinned by an understanding of grassroots realities.

He further highlighted the importance of public-private collaboration in expanding healthcare access, noting that the involvement of the Lagos State Ministry of Health underscores the value of strategic partnerships in delivering services to underserved populations.

Many beneficiaries described the outreach as timely and impactful, with some undergoing medical check-ups for the first time in years, while others said the screenings enabled early detection of potential health issues.
