Youth leader in Oyo State PDP, Kazeem Bello, has declared his intention to run for Egbeda Local Government chairmanship in this year’s council poll.
Bello, a former NANS leader, said his aspiration was in response to demands of residents that he should run for chairman.

Speaking in Ibadan, Bello said his ambition was driven by response to the demands of residents in the council.
He hailed the Chairman, Sikiru Oyedele, for his performance, but noted that the council needed young and experienced politician like himself to take it to greater heights.

He stressed the importance of de-monetising politics, saying: “It is unfortunate that politics in the country has already been monetised.’’
Egbeda PDP Chairman, Chief Ebenezer Alawe, described Bello as a grassroots and an experienced democracy volunteer, urging him to remain dedicated to the party’s ideal.

“Bello is a committed grassroots politician, who has demonstrated his passion for public service. We are confident he will bring a new perspective to the chairmanship role.”
Spokesman for Egbeda PDP, Ademola Lawal, an engineer; and a youth stakeholder, Samuel Adeniji, lauded Governor Seyi Makinde for appointing youths in his administration, advising them to be more involved in politics for a shared prosperity.
“We hail Governor Makinde for his inclusive approach to governance. We enjoin youths to participate in politics to ensure a prosperous future for our generation,” they said.
