The Past OLA Girls Association (POGA) has donated 20 Wowbii Interactive Smart Classroom boards to Our Lady of Apostles (OLA) Secondary School, Yaba, Lagos, in a move aimed at enhancing digital learning and modernising classroom experience.
The initiative, described as a milestone in transforming African education, was undertaken by members of the 1964/68 and 1965/69 sets as part of efforts to support technology-driven education within schools under the Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos.
The donation is designed to strengthen the capacity of the institution to deliver quality education through the integration of digital tools, equipping students with skills required in an increasingly technology-oriented world.
The handover ceremony featured live demonstrations of the Wowbii Interactive Boards, highlighting their capacity to support collaborative learning, improve digital literacy, and enhance classroom engagement.

The intervention also coincided with the 70th anniversary of the school, adding significance to the alumni’s contribution.
Speaking at the event, Chairperson of the OLAOSA 1968/1969 sets, Lt. Col. Margaret-Mary Obigho (rtd), said the boards represent a significant investment in the future of the students.

She noted that the technology represents a modern teaching tool suited to current educational demands, expressing optimism that both teachers and students would maximise its benefits.
Also speaking, Assistant Director of Education, Lagos Archdiocese, Rev. Fr. Vincent Bankole, described the donation as a major step in preparing students for the future.

“Our mission is to educate and shape future generations, and having access to tools like these interactive boards enhances our ability to achieve that goal,” he said.
He commended the alumni for their gesture and encouraged other former students to contribute to the development of their schools, noting the importance of giving back to support upcoming generations.
