The Delta State Police Command has arrested 15 suspected cultists and armed robbers in separate operations across the state, recovering locally made pistols, live cartridges, illicit drugs and cash.
Police spokesman SP Bright Edafe in a statement on Friday said 14 suspects were arrested on April 27, 2026, when operatives of Safe Delta, Operation Delta Sweep and Operation Delta Shield raided a criminal hideout at a black spot known as Best Lodge in Oko Community.
The suspects, comprising 13 males and one female, were found with a locally made cut-to-size pistol, three live cartridges, two bags of substances suspected to be Indian hemp, four daggers, a cutlass, several mobile phones and N133,100 believed to be proceeds of crime.

In a related operation the same day, Edafe said operatives of Operation Delta Shield arrested a 26-year-old suspect, Chidebere Irunkwor, during a stop-and-search along Kingsley Street.
He said a search on the suspect led to the recovery of a locally made pistol, two live cartridges and 10 euros.
He said preliminary investigation indicated he is a member of the Eiye confraternity.
Edafe said all suspects are in custody and investigations are ongoing.
The Commissioner of Police, Yemi Oyeniyi, reaffirmed the command's commitment to sustained crackdown on criminal elements through proactive and intelligence-led policing.
He urged residents to provide timely and credible information to assist the police in crime prevention and to protect the security of lives and property in the state.
