Rentals Professionals Society of Nigeria (RPSN) members have inducted new officers to pilot the affairs of the association.

Others were Chief Whip, Mrs Toyin Ayanleke; Legal Director, Mrs Ifeoma Obi Uchendu; Event Director, Mrs Patricia Osazuwa Perfect; Welfare Director, Mrs Funke Kumapayi; Pro, Mrs Bukola Uviase; and Education Director, Mr Barnabas Anyanwu.

Mrs Oderinlo thanked the exco and members for their support in the outgoing year. She listed her achievements to include increased membership and dues payment, more visibility, proper documentation, welfare for members, and relationships with associations with Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA).

She announced the group's upcoming first trade mission to China in April, aimed at boosting global integration; training for members next month, exhibition, roadshows, and the push for a code of conduct.

She sought more support in the New Year.

Mrs Oderinlo added, "Our industry is evolving rapidly. The demands are higher. The expectations are greater. The opportunities are bigger. As rental professionals, if it's not only a responsible change, we must lead it. In my first tenure, our focus was on building structure, strengthening our internal systems, improving documentation, enhancing visibility, and laying a solid foundation for growth. We worked to ensure that SPSN moved from being just a name to becoming a respected and organised professional body.

"This new tenure is about consolidation and expansion. It is about standards, collaboration, international exposure, training, and industry reform. Today's AGM will give us an opportunity to read our progress. Deliberate on key issues and collectively shift the future of RPSN.

"Immediately after this meeting, we will also be holding our first-ever industry-wide town hall meeting, a historic step towards strengthening collaboration across the invention industry. I encourage active participation, constructive contributions, and unity of purpose. Together, we will continue to build an association we are proud of, one that protects his members, elevates standards, and commands respect.''

RSPN founder, Mrs Kemi Adeleke, said she was glad that the seed she planted some years ago had grown like an oak. She praised the immediate past exco for ''making the association proud''. The group was founded in 2003 with 42 members. Today, it has 131 members in Oyo, Ogun, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

At the town hall meeting, Director, Logistics and Transport, LASTMA, Jubril Oshodi, advised event centre owners as well as RSPN members to partner with LASTMA on the best way to handle traffic issues. He warned that blocking of highways is a serious offence that attracts sanctions. He also advised them to engage well-trained drivers in their businesses.

Relevant stakeholders at the meeting also spoke on the best way to move the subsector forward.
